Everything you need to write about Caradura GO.

In a nutshell

Caradura GO is a free mobile game that turns everyday bad manners —double parking, the scooter dumped on the zebra crossing or the dog poo nobody picked up— into illustrated creatures you catch with your camera. Real people are never photographed: what you capture is always a drawing.

Long text

Caradura GO is a mobile game that turns everyday incivility into a light-hearted hunt. The player points the camera at the street and, if the phone recognises an object such as a car, a bike or a dog, an illustrated creature appears in its place, waiting to be caught. Every capture fills the CívicDex, sorted into five categories: transport, parking, street, noise and pets. Points count towards a weekly neighbourhood league, and the bestiary grows by seasons and regions: the first one, already open, is Europe. Privacy is the foundation of the game: the image is analysed on the phone itself, no faces or number plates are stored, and the map shows each capture with the player name of whoever caught it, in its zone and never at the exact spot (or anonymously, with no name, if the player prefers). It is in public beta and is played from the phone's browser.

The creator's quote

«The villain is the behaviour, never the person. That's why we don't store a single face or number plate.»

— Creator of Caradura GO

The creatures

The 15 species of the Europe season, the one that's open now. Each one embodies a behaviour, never a person. The PNG illustrations with a transparent background can be used to write about the game.

Press FAQ

Can you report someone with the app?

No. Caradura GO doesn't replace official channels and doesn't identify anyone: what you catch is always a drawn creature, never a person, a doorway or a number plate.

What data is stored?

A public player name, the passkey's public key for signing in, and game progress (points and captures). The email address is encrypted on the phone itself before it's sent and is only used to announce rewards. The camera image is analysed on the phone and is never saved or sent. The map publishes the species, time and player name of each capture straight away, in its zone; anonymous captures show at the exact spot, with no name.

Do the rewards exist yet?

Not yet: redeeming will be switched on once there are agreements with each city, and no organisation has been confirmed so far.

Who's behind it?

An independent developer from Madrid, with no outside funding, under the RedderLabs label.
